Following that success, Holly and her partner, Grant, are assigned to another chilling homicide. The victim shows signs of strangulation, and a disturbing clue is found during the autopsy. As more victims turn up, Holly and her team struggle to catch a killer who is both methodical and disturbingly precise. Will Holly and her team solve this case before more bodies appear, even as pressure mounts in the department and the city? Author Jimmy Ray Conner vividly captures the transformation of crime detection units during the 1960s, from the introduction of databases and forensic pathology to the growing diversity in hiring and specializations within these units. He describes the shift from a male-dominated police department to a more inclusive and ethnically diverse one, signaling the beginning of a new era in law enforcement.
